What: The PROving Grounds Basketball Tournament with a 3-game guarantee. Played on regulation high school court at one location. Featuring some of the best talent in the surrounding areas and a 3-Point Contest.
When: Friday through Sunday, April 12 – 14.
Where: Niagara County Community College – 3111 Saunders Settlement Rd, Sanborn, NY 14132
Age Restriction: This is an age based tournament, meaning that no player over that age bracket can play in that bracket, regardless of grade. PLAYERS MUST BE THE CORRECT AGE AS OF JUNE 1st, 2019. (ie. if a player is playing on a 13u team they cannot turn fourteen (14) prior to June 1st, 2019.)
Identification: If a team is suspected to have older players, the tournament organizer will ask that player’s coach for identification (preferably a birth certificate). If the player is older or the coach cannot show valid ID, that player only will be disqualified from the tournament and any games that that player played in will be deemed a ‘loss’.
Game Time: FOR ALL BRACKETS – Two (2) Twenty (20) minutes halves running clock, except for the last minute (1) in the first half and the last two (2) minute of the second half. Clock will not stop if either team is leading by twenty (20) points or more. 1st overtime is two (2) minutes stop clock. 2nd overtime is decided by the first team to take a two point lead.Stalling is not permitted and technical fouls can be issued at the ref’s discretion.
Forfeits/Late To Game: A team will be awarded one (1) point for every minute of the game clock that passes that the opposing team does not have at least four (4) players and a coach listed on the registration present. If a team does not show after ten (10) minutes of game clock, it will be deemed a forfeit.
Timeouts: Three (3) thirty second (30 sec.) timeouts per game. Each team is allowed one (1) timeout in overtime. Timeouts from regulation do not carry over into overtime. (ie. if you had two (2) times left at the end of regulation, in overtime you only one (1).)
Fouls: Players foul out after their 5th personal foul. Opposing teams enter the bonus at seven (7) team fouls in a half and double bonus after ten (10) team fouls. Team fouls reset at half time. A team can continue to play if they only have four (4) players left. If a team only has three (3) players remaining, they will forfeit that game.
Technical Fouls: If a player or coach receives two (2) technical fouls in one game, they are disqualified from the current game and their team’s next game. Depending on the severity of those technical fouls, the tournament organizers hold the right to disqualify those players and/or coaches for the remainder of the tournament.
Defense: FOR ALL BRACKETS – Full court and back court pressing is allowed until a team is up by twenty (20) points.
Basketballs: 28.5 for 11u and 12u. 29.5 for 13u, 14u and 15u. A game ball will be provided. Teams are responsible for their own basketballs for warming up. Neither team can use the game ball for warmups.

Scorekeepers and bookkeepers will be provided.
Players cannot play for multiple teams in this tournament.
All high school rules, except for a shot clock, are in effect for all brackets.
Playoffs/Championship: The top two (2) teams from each bracket will advance to the championship game. If teams have the same record, the team that advances will be determined by their point spread in all three (3) games (games won by 20+ points equal twenty (20) points).
